\u00a0 Found among a dense forest of oak and situated at height of 1350m you will encounter a well preserved settlement with a traditional styled architecture, Nymfaio. It belongs to the Florina regional unit. According to some, Nymfaio is one of the most beautiful villages in Europe.<\/h6>\n
\u00a0 Its location on top of the mountain provides an excellent view allowing visitors to see the surrounding mountains, the wide lake of Vegoritida as well as the grassy plains below. The architectural style of the village with its stone-built houses, wooden bridges and cobblestone streets make it ideal for a relaxing walk.<\/h6>\n
The village also hosts the environmental center ARCTUROS. ARCTUROS is a non-profit organization whose main goal is to protect the local wildlife and its natural habitat. More specifically the group focuses on the protection of the local brown bears and wolves.<\/h6>\n
\u00a0 Our walk in the charming settlement will begin from the first moment we get off the van. Vehicles are not allowed within the village. While wandering the cobblestone streets visitors are fascinated by the classy houses and the small elegant coffee shops.\u00a0 \u00a0Our first stop is the grandiose cobblestone building of the Nikeios School where many documents regarding Nymfaio\u2019s most prominent families are kept. The next stop is the ARCTUROS<\/a> environmental centre. We will spend 45 minutes touring the facilities where will be informed of the group\u2019s activities. At the same time we will have a unique experience as we will see the wildlife living there first hand.\u00a0 After concluding our visit to ARCTUROS, we will have plenty of time to wander around the village and try the local delicacies.<\/h6>\n
