Do you like relaxing in hot springs surrounded by amazing scenery? If the answer is yes, then you should definitely visit Loutra Pozar.
Τhermal springs Pozar or Loutraki combine hot springs and a landscape of immense beauty, offering unique moments of relaxation and recreation. Visitors can enjoy the comforts of hot spring water which springs out of the depths of the nearby mountains with a temperature of 37 degrees Celsius. A number of facilities are located in the vicinity of the hot springs such as private pools, changing rooms, restaurants and bars.
The first stop of the trip will be at the breathtaking waterfalls of Edessa which are found in an evergreen park of centuries-old Platanus trees and cobblestone paths. Next, we will explore the mill area of the town as well as the historical Varosi district. There we will enjoy some coffee in view of the fertile plains of Central Macedonia. We will then leave Edessa behind and go through the woods of Gavaliotissa where we will find the ‘Airplane’ a monument to Edessian pilots. Our next stop is Thermal path Pozar also known as Loutra Arideas. After getting off the bus, we will walk for about an hour among flowing streams and spectacular waterfalls where we will encounter a landscape of unique natural beauty. Last but not least… relaxation, recreation and loosening up in the external or internal pools in of the ‘hot spring town’. The soothing and calming properties of the water will rejuvenate you, incenting you to visit again.
Edessa is rightfully called the ‘town of water’. Not only does it have numerous canals but also hosts the most famous and greatest waterfalls in Greece. One of the most beautiful sections of the town is the Varosi district that contains old houses of Macedonian architecture as well as the famed old mills of the area.
